Introduction to the Annual Issue on Vietnamese History, Culture, and Literature

16-12-2024

Dear Esteemed Authors and Readers:

As you may know, the Annual Issue on Vietnamese Literature and History of the Dalat University Journal of Science (DLU-JOS) made its inaugural appearance in Volume 9, Issue 3 (2019), under the theme Special Issue on Archaeology and Ethnology. Volume 10, Issue 1 (2020) – Social Sciences and Humanities of the DLU-JOS continued this endeavor, presenting further studies on the history and culture of Vietnam. These initiatives laid a robust foundation for the formal introduction of the Annual Issue on Vietnamese Literature and History to readers, beginning with Volume 11, Issue 3 (2021), under the auspices of the DLU-JOS: Social Sciences and Humanities. Contributions published in this and subsequent annual issues included papers on Vietnamese literature, archaeology, history, and ethnology.

We have decided to enlarge the scope of our journal section, Social Sciences and Humanities—Annual Issue on Vietnamese Literature and History, to include contributions related to Vietnamese culture more broadly, beginning with Volume 14, Issue 4 (2024). This change is intended to respond to the ever-evolving landscape of academia and better reflect our journal’s evolving interests.

From Volume 15, 2025, this issue will be officially renamed Annual Issue on Vietnamese History, Culture, and Literature. The issue welcomes original research papers and review articles addressing themes that fall into one of the following categories:

[1] Distinctly Vietnamese-related research focusing specifically on Vietnamese history, literature, and culture.

[2] Research with a regional or international scope, but with significant implications for Vietnam.

As the holiday season and the New Year draw near, we extend our warmest wishes to you and your loved ones for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2025.

Sincerely,

DLU-JOS Editorial Office
