HAN NOM BOOK AND THE DONG VINH THI WORK OF NUNG ETHNIC EFFECTS FUNERAL TRADITIONAL CUSTOM (THE SURVEY IN DUCTRONG DISTRICT, LAMDONG PROVINCE)

Abstract

Funeral is one of important life-cycle ritual as concept of Nung Ethnic. Death is not the end that is to be on the first plane, travelling in fairy world. Thus, this ritual of Nung ethnic is organised very seriously and complex. In the course of studying in Nung Nom documents, we were trying to decipher the many books of the Nung, including Dong Vinh Thi book. This book noted 316 verses 7 words, at the same time lyrics to the dead during the funeral ceremony. Realising this is the book had value related to the unique traditional funeral custom. Many rituals that book recorded still apply today. Through understanding the contents of the book associated with the ritual of the funeral ceremony helps for the reader to understand more about the ritual during the funeral ceremony of the Nung people. In addition, the author would like to provide more material for the studies of funeral customs of the Nung through Han Nom Nung document.
