Abstract

The victory of the Road 14 - Phuoc-Long Campaign (13/17/1974 - 06/01/1975) not only liberated Phuoc-Long province, and created a strategic corridor around Saigon, but also shew the development of the Vietnamese Liberation Army and encouraged the spirit of our military and our people. Moreover, it was more important that the victory helped us evaluate exactly the power of the Sai-Gon army at that time and probe the Sai-Gon government’s opposition as well as Washington government’s reaction, which helped the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam make the decision to liberate the South of Vietnam. It was the key that led into the Great Victory in the Spring in 1975.
